Little Anna Lea's First Day of Pre-K

Anna Lea has been ready to start pre-K almost as long as I have been ready for her to start. (I have developed the philosophy that as soon as the nap has been outgrown, school should be in the VERY near future:) She is really loving her first year as a big girl going to school, and is quite proud of herself.

She and Wyatt have recently started arguing about who the biggest is between the two of them. Anna Lea loves to remind her brother that she is bigger than him, and this does not sit well with our man child. So, he has been arguing back that God is bigger than Anna Lea, He is the biggest! Haha!

Anna Lea also told me that one of the little girls in her class told her that she did not like her back pack. I explained to Anna Lea, that it was ok if the little girl didn't like her back pack. That it probably wasn't the nicest thing for her to say, but we all like different things. I told Anna Lea she should just try to be nice to the little girl anyway. We came up with an idea of how to be kind. Anna Lea was going to find something the little girl was wearing to compliment her on. Well, the following day Anna Lea came home and told me the little girl had punched her in the nose!! I asked her if she had said her kind word to the little girl and Anna Lea said, "Yes! I told her I liked her shirt, and she punched me in the nose!!!"

Layla is in 1st grade this year and is enjoying being back with her friends, and she loves her new teacher!
Guess who is NOT a morning person? :)

A Mess

These kids o' mine are definitely a mess. They say and do the funniest things. If left unattended for any length of time, a mess is what you will find upon looking for them. Believe me, I've walked in on everything from a puddle of Hershey's syrup on the kitchen floor to a pile of number 2 hiding under the bunk beds.
Occasionally I will let them make a mess on purpose. I am thankful for a mom who let me play in the rain and wasn't afraid to let me get a little dirty when I was younger. It's just part of being a kid. It will be these memories that stick out in their minds for years to come.
