Layla is Six!

Layla enjoyed her special day with green cupcakes to share with her friends at school, a birthday crown, and several presents.
she had been wanting a pillow pet
she got a big girl purse that she has been using as her backpack for the last few weeks of school, a wallet to go in her purse, and some new clothes from Marmee and Pop!

oh, and a few more cupcakes to share with the fam
And I have to mention, that she received 6 dollars from Aunt Carrianna and Uncle Eric, wich she promised to keep up with in her new wallet at school. When she came home from school that day she told me she didn't have any money left, she had bought a bottled water, a gatorade for herself, and one for a boy named Michael at school. I tried to explain to her to be frugal with her money and to spend it wisely next time. She promtly asked me for some more money so she could spend it wisely:) A week or two later we found a dollar under her bed, and she told me she had hidden it under her pillow for the tooth fairy?? She is a Funny girl.

Backhoe Birthday

The day the girl's enjoyed their birthday party at the Princess Parlor, Rob planned to rent a backhoe for Wyatt (and himself) to play with. If the Princess Parlor was the girl's dream come true, it was just as much Wyatt's dream come true to get to operate this piece of heavy machinary with his daddy. He (they) both thoroughly enjoyed themselves!! And we still have about 3 rather large holes in the yard to prove it!

By the time Wyatt's birthday came around, we had long since given up wrapping presents.
Looking at his John Deere Twactors
He absolutely loves to sit outside in the dirt and play with his twucks and twactors!! He is a precious Boy!!

The Princess Parlor

The Princess Parlor is every little girl's dream come true!! The girls truly thought they were real princesses!! I am so glad we found this super cute place in downtown Cleveland to have the girl's birthday party. All the girls had a blast! This is a must for any girl ages 3-9 years old.

Ready to party!

First step, picking out the perfect gown, and getting dressed in the beautiful dressing room
Then, they picked out a few rings to wear, and had their hair put up in a fancy updo. Of coarse there was makeup and finger nail polish and lots of GLITTER!!!

Anna Lea kept trying to see if her eye shadow was still on

Birthday Season Begins!

Around here birthday season opens on April the 17th and ends on May the 8th. Anna Lea's birthday is first. She turned 4 this year. I was hoping the terrible twos, wich have stayed with us through the threes would magically disappear, but they didn't. Though we have made some major steps of improvement, we are still working hard on self control when angry about something that doesn't go our way, and going to bed at bed time. Anna Lea has great manners, always remembering to say "Thank you" and "Your Welcome". She is also quick to give out compliments. For example, she told the lady in the bathroom at Target, "Your shirt is pretty".
We decided to do something a little different this year for the kids birthdays. In the past we have had one big party to celebrate everyone's births. This year we had a "Princess Party" for the girls where they were able to invite two friends each. Wyatt spent that day with Daddy on a backhoe they rented to play with for the weekend. I will do a separte post for these special events, because of the volume of pictures:)
We tried to make the actual day of our children's birthdays special as well with cupcakes, balloons, and a present or two. Below is Anna Lea's special day.
And this was BEFORE eating the cupcake!
Pop, Marmee, and chil'ren (Wyatt has recently grown a goatee:)
Excited to open presents!!
